What is Lithofin Cotto Pre-Wax?
This ready-to-use, water-based impregnating agent has been specially developed for floors made of Cotto, Terracotta, clay tiles, Terres Cuites, and stove tiles. The formula contains oil- and water-repellent polymers and additives that penetrate deeply into the porous structure of the material. This creates a thin, invisible layer within the capillaries of the stone. The protective film prevents water, dirt, and grease from being absorbed, making maintenance much easier. Lithofin Cotto Pre-Wax is UV-resistant, does not yellow, and maintains the natural appearance of the surface. It is therefore an excellent choice for areas with a high risk of staining, such as kitchens and dining rooms.
How does Lithofin Cotto Pre-Wax work?
Apply Lithofin Cotto Pre-Wax to a clean, dry, and stain-free surface using a mop or sponge. Alternatively, a garden sprayer can be used, after which the product should be evenly distributed. Once applied, the impregnator penetrates deeply into the pores and forms a protective layer against stains and dirt. On highly absorbent surfaces, a second coat may be required approximately 30–40 minutes after the first. The drying process takes around 1 hour. For optimal finishing, follow up with Lithofin Cotto Wax-Finish. Please note: this product is not suitable for factory-pretreated, waxed, or salt-glazed surfaces.

Instructions for Use
- Ensure the floor is clean, dry, and stain-free.
- Apply generously and evenly using a mop, sponge, or sprayer.
- Spread immediately with a sponge to allow penetration into the pores.
- For highly porous surfaces, apply a second coat after 30–40 minutes.
- Remove any spills or drops immediately.
- Allow to dry for approx. 1 hour at 5–25°C.
- Finish with Lithofin Cotto Wax-Finish.
- Remove any dried residues with a lint-free cloth.
