Frequently Asked Questions About Moroccan Zelliges

Frequently Asked Questions About Moroccan Zelliges
Yes, absolutely! Authentic zelliges are 100% handmade. There are also many machine-made copies on the market, but they do not compare to the beauty of the real stuff.
Yes, the production centers for zelliges in Morocco are located in Fez and Meknes.
This is because zelliges are fired in a traditional kiln, where temperatures and oxygen levels vary slightly throughout. As a result, the glazes develop uniquely in different areas. This does not affect the quality but is one of the characteristic charms of zelliges.
At first glance, they may seem more expensive per square meter, but when you consider the overall cost, this is not the case. Due to our excellent quality control, the defect rate is only 2–3%, meaning that out of 100 tiles per square meter, only 2 or 3 are unusable. With other suppliers, defect rates often exceed 35%, meaning you end up paying more because you need more good tiles to complete your project. Additionally, our high-quality zelliges allow tilers to work much faster, saving you labor costs and ensuring a better final result. In the end, cheap can turn out to be expensive.
Yes! That is one of our specialties. We offer 50 standard colors to choose from, along with special finishes like bronze, silver, and gold. Additionally, we have many existing designs that you can choose from and customize by changing the colors. The minimum order quantity is always 1m².
We offer two delivery methods:
  • Loose in a full box
  • Pre-mounted on panels, especially for complex patterns. While there is an additional cost for the panels, they ensure a premium product that is easier for the tiler to install. Each square meter contains 11 panels of 30x30 cm.
Yes, we can provide a flooring-grade zellige suitable for lightly trafficked areas such as bathrooms or garden rooms. Underfloor heating works excellently beneath a zellige floor.
No, zelliges are not frost-resistant. They can be installed under a covered area, but the edges must be properly sealed to prevent water from seeping behind the tiles. If water gets behind the tiles and freezes, they will crack. Outdoor installation is always at your own risk.
