Installment guide for handmade Zelliges
Check Before installing your tiles, pleasecheck the quality, colour variation and quantity. If you have any claims, please report them to us immediately as we cannot accept claims on tiles that have already been placed.
Clean Work in a clean and well ventilated room.
Sorting To create a harmonious colour scheme on your wall, pick tiles randomly out of several boxes.
Dust free Before placement dip each tile in to clean water, or wipe with a damp cloth to remove dust.
Even wall The wall to be tiled needs to be level, dry and clean.
Double adhesive To make up for the slight thickness differences that you may find in the zelliges, apply a thick layer of tile adhesive to the back of the tile and on to the wall to obtain a perfectly smooth and even surface. Place the tiles as close to each other as possible (max. 1mm), so as to have a minimum of grouting.
Drying Once the tiles are placed, leave to dry for approximately one day before grouting.
Grouting Use a water tight and flexible grout. Remove grout residue immediately with a damp cloth.
Cutting Use a water saw.
Waste Although our tiles are the best quality to be found on today’s market they remain a handmade product, thus it might occur that some tiles are slightly damaged. Cut off the damaged parts and use the undamaged parts in edges and corners.
Cleaning Use a soft non acid detergent.
Wet rooms You can perfectly use zelliges in shower rooms, saunas and wellness areas provided that the surfaces to be tiled are completely water tight, and the adhesive and grout employed are watertight and flexible.
Floor quality Zelliges can be used on light traffic floors.
